Our extraordinary team of riders and walkers braved the chilly weather to raise $9,000 for CJHS at the Ride for Refuge on Sept. 29, 2018. It was a fun day and great to see so many supporters helping us in our mission to reduce crime and increase safety in Calgary.
In honour of Orange Shirt Day (which falls on Sept. 30), our team wore orange to recognize the harm the residential school system did to children’s sense of self-esteem and wellbeing, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters. Thank you for all your hard work and for supporting marginalized youth and adults who are involved, or at risk of becoming involved, in the justice system!
Thanks to everyone who came out to support us in the Ride for Refuge and to help us honour residential school survivors for #OrangeShirtDay2018 – these amazing people raised nearly $9,000 for CJHS! pic.twitter.com/x3yMqjkXa6
